My family and I are visiting my in-laws in the Villages and my 11 year old wanted to get some ice cream. We happen to go to Spanish Springs for some entertainment and we stopped at Kilwin's. First thing to note so you are not sticker shocked is the ice cream is expensive. If you have ever been to Cold Stone Creamery and have seen their prices, it is similar. Prices start at almost $4.00 for a single cone or cup. I will say they have a wide variety of flavors and it does taste good, but not sure it is worth the cost. My son ordered a small cone and ask me if he could get a cup since at 9PM at night, it was still 85 degrees outside which obviously will melt ice cream pretty quick. Being a parent and knowing kids, accidents will happen so I too thought it was a good idea for him to have a cup just in case. We were pleasantly served our ice cream but I was very disappointed (but I did not say anything) that they actually charged me 25 cents for the cup which made the bill $8.75 for a single cup, a single cone (with a cup), and tax. I find it very hard to believe that they have that little of a profit margin needing to charge anything for a cup and actually, pretty disgraceful. The best part is that I bet many of the five star reviews are given for the discount they will provide you if you give them 5 stars (see my picture..20% off ). Like I said the variety is good, the ice cream has good flavor, the staff was courteous and helpful, but the business practices and prices are shady at best.

Great place to get delicious gourmet homemade chocolate, fudge, & ice cream. Everyone there was really friendly & they let you try samples before you buy. I'll definitely be back!

Had some great toasted coconut ice cream here today. I would definitely return for a repeat visit. Our group enjoyed the waffle cones and the fudge.

All I have to say is....sea salt caramel fudge ice cream. Do I have your attention? I thought so. This ice cream was delicious! I've also had the strawberry with is quite good as well. I just love how cute this shop is set up with it's charming décor. You can also watch them make things behind the counter. Very cool!

Unfortunately the owners wife waited on me. She handed me a dish with one small scoop of ice cream, one ladle of hot fudge and one ladle of caramel and charged me over $7.50 for it. I went outside to sit with my friends and saw their sundaes were much bigger than mine and I thought "was I charged incorrectly?" I went back in to question it and her husband (the owner) told me I was the rudest customer he ever had then he gave me my money back and told me never to return. This is a true story. It was totally bizarre. They were obviously having a bad day and took it out on the customer. Why? I don't know but I won't go back.

It should get a 5 star for quality but it's very very expensive. There is a lot to look at and choose so take your time. Do not leave without getting the salted caramel fudge. I think it's the best fudge I've ever had. (Sorry Mama). You can get half slices to save money. Great location, clean, and decent service.

Wow! I wanted one of everything...seriously! I hadn't been to this particular location in years, and let me tell you, what a difference. The new owners happened to be working while I was there, and they, as well as their employees, were very friendly and helpful. I don't write many of these and only writing now because of the truly pleasant experience I had today. Oh, and if you like cheesecake, their cheesecake ice creams will blow your mind! I had the Turtle cheesecake, and it's all I can think about now.

What a gem! Their sea salt caramel fudge is extraordinary. We got to watch them make the fudge which was a wonderful treat (no pun intended!). Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!

What a charming ice cream and candy shop. Had the toasted coconut ice cream which was to die for. Sampled some chocolates too. Brought home chocolate covered Oreos for my granddaughter and she loved them! So many choices it was hard to choose. The apples looked wonderful and are huge. Very nice, clean store.

NEW OWNERSHIP!!! We weren't going to come to this place because of all the bad reviews, but we found ourselves wondering around Spanish Springs and wanting ice cream as we walked by. This place is AMAZING. They go the extra mile with everything they do. I couldn't believe how good everything looked and how good the ice cream was because of all the reviews on here. The staff was very courteous and eager to help or give you a sample of something. Yes, the place is expensive (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). But, you get what you pay for, and the treats here are out of this world. I spoke to either the owner or manager (couldn't tell which he was), and he was very nice and extremely polite. I asked him if he new that the place had horrible reviews and he said that they just bought the place and took over this last month (September 2013). He said when they took over, they had their work cut our for them. So please be informed, this place has NEW OWNERSHIP and is A LOT better!!!

Stopped to get ice cream most of the containers were empty. It looked like they were closing down for the year.

Bad fudge, rude people, and over charged for fudge, not a good place stay away or get ripped off.

Didn't even get a chance to try the ice cream here. We were turned away at the door. Their sign said they were open until 9:30pm, we arrived at 9:00 and decided to take a stroll around the square before they closed. We returned at 9:10 to discovered they had closed early. The lady who stopped us at the door was unapologetic and a bit rude to say the least. She definitely set the tone for us not to come here again.

Very welcoming, charming place. And ohhhh the smell is heaven. The owner herself waited on us. We had a sample of fudge and couldn't resist buying a half pound. Absolutely delicious! We had chocolate ice cream and enjoyed every bite. We'll definitely be back. A fun stop on our walk though Spanish Springs.

Only one word can describe this place...WOW. Delicious fudge and anything chocolaty that you can think of! Dale showed me around the shop and gave me a lot of different samples. I hadn't eaten lunch when I got here and I was pretty stuffed by the time I left. I will be back. -Chaz

Love Kilwins wether it's in Florida or New Hampshire. Ice cream is the best I've ever had. Chocolate treats are amazing. Made fresh. Watched peanut butter fudge being made right behind the counter. If only the clerks were as sweet as the delicious treats.

Very good ice cream. The chocolates are better than average, certainly the best in or near the Villages but that is not saying much. The caramels are excellent, so much better than Kraft or the other commercial ones. They are by far my favorite item here. I wish they had a caramel-macadamia nut combination.
